For the past two years, the Summer of Protocols (SoP) program, an initiative of the Ethereum Foundation, has funded a wide range of research and fieldwork in what is now a robust young multi-disciplinary field we call Protocol Studies.

Eleven talented educators, interested in teaching this emerging discipline, are now participating in the SoP25 program.

Over the summer, these educators will develop courses and modules to teach protocol studies at their home institutions in the coming fall and spring. All teaching materials, including syllabi and demo classes, will be open-source. Anyone can pick up this material and run with it, wherever they teach.

This fall will also be an online, week-long course from September 15-19. Details are to be determined, but the course will comprise 12 modules ranging from STEM to art to application and include small tests prior to certification. Modules will be taught live, with limited space.
